This project was partly triggered by a Microsoft license (CAL) compliance failure, a close call with a ransomware attack & the need to update 4 servers triggered by their old Visual MRP system moving into the cloud & requiring more technical/technology capacity than the company had, requiring this update.
The company’s contracted VAR- manager (Value Added Reseller) of their ERP system would not take on the risks to migration from the older version of “Infor” to the newer version of “Infor Visual”, as they would not (unable to) support the server procurement/installation needs in addition to road mapping the data migration project for “Infor” from a server environment into a hybrid cloud environment, putting the business at risk, due to the lack of support.
This required a formal project charter & a “Technology Transfer of Service Agreement to determine & produce a new support model. The town where the business resides installed & provided subsidized fiber optics internet access to help with the town’s businesses IT modernization efforts that also helped to kick-off this unique opportunity to modernize fully.
